Job Description

This is a North America Finance position that will have ownership and accountability for defining and applying standards and best practices in the use of Business Intelligence (BI) and Advanced Analytics technology for Financial and Operational reporting. In addition, this position will need to understand the North America business/operations in order to identify opportunities in leveraging technology to accommodate segment business reporting and operational efficiency needs.

This position will work with each of the North America underwriting divisions as well as coordinate with the Global and International groups to ensure organizational consistency.

Critical qualities to succeed includes having a detailed understanding of the capabilities of Chubb BI and Analytics toolset, the ability to take ownership, identify and recommend remediation for issues; manage projects and people; develop relationships; and exhibit willingness/desire to continuously build on insurance industry and product knowledge.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include:
  • Business Intelligence Technology
    • Oversee development of standardized dashboard and self-service reporting using Qlik technology
    • Identify and leverage advanced reporting technologies such as natural language generation to enhance reporting
    • Matrix management of 3 VP level positions within the Divisional Finance Officers and their respective Data/Analytics teams to standardize the use of Qlik technology and ensure each group understands and leverages best practices; direct data analytics support for 2 lines of business
    • Continues to enhance reporting and analytics through use of advanced multi-channel delivery methods (e.g. tablets, mobile, etc.)
  • Advanced Analytics
    • Work with a number of stakeholders (the Global Actuarial analytics group, the Field, Divisional Finance teams, etc.) to enhance the use of Advanced Analytics (descriptive, predictive, prescriptive) technologies to enable a more automated approach to forecast projections and assist with underwriter prioritizations
    • Participates in development of North America Advanced Analytics roadmap
  • General Technology Advancement
    • Continues to evaluate use of new technology and work with Executive Management on the cost/benefit of leveraging additional toolsets
    • Participates in industry and technology events/conferences to learn new trends and use cases to drive continuous improvement within Chubb
  • Liaise with the Global TM1 Center of Excellence to implement enhancements/improvements to the North America FP&A models

Skills and Experience:
  • Four year degree in Business and/or MIS (Preferred)
  • 10+ years relevant experience –with either a consulting firm or a large public company in an analytics/MIS role.
  • Strong Product/Toolset knowledge of Business Intelligence capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively and independently with other disciplines and all levels of management/staff throughout the organization
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to problem solve and work autonomously, to manage multiple projects and people, and to prioritize appropriately
