VP/SVP, North American Claims Operations Leader

Position Summary:

North American Claims Operations delivers operational client support, Intelligent Automation portfolio management and business process re-engineering services for the broader claims organization.  The VP/SVP, North American Claim Operations Leader will be responsible for the continual strengthening of the Chubb Claims’ brand through efficiently and effectively servicing our clients, providing a core set of operational support capabilities to Claims, improving, standardizing, and re-engineering Claims processes, developing a pipeline of continuous improvement opportunities, supporting and enabling Chubb’s Digital strategy, and supporting key strategic change initiatives.  This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Services and Operations Officer.
Key Accountabilities Include:
End to end operational support & service delivery for claims field operations:
  • Oversight, leadership, and management of our claims field operations organization.
  • Provide operational support and services for all claims field offices across all claims disciplines at the highest quality / service and within SLAs whilst driving improved expense efficiencies.
  • End to end oversight and management of our Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) operations.
  • Develop and implement future state Target Operating Model(s) for operations including leading key strategic projects that will help reach desired target state.
  • Provide market insights to drive both short and long-term operational strategies.
  • Cultivate a work environment that promotes strong performance, diversity and inclusion.
Develop and Implement Process Re-engineering and Continuous Improvement Capability for Claims:
  • Oversight, leadership, and management of best in-class Process Re-engineering and Continuous Improvement Capability for claims.
  • Develop and implement the strategy to deploy a Process Re-engineering capability and Continuous Improvement culture and mindset for claims.
  • In collaboration with the Process Re-engineering Lead,
    • Identify opportunities for process re-engineering and build a pipeline of opportunities for process automation and continuous improvement.
    • Drive standardization and re-engineering of current processes to enable them for process automation, digital initiatives, system deployments, new products etc. 
    • Define and implement future state processes.
    • Identify and fix process pain points within disciplines and across disciplines.
  • Drive innovative thinking and non-traditional approaches to enhance operational capabilities and results.
End to end business oversight and delivery accountability for Intelligent Automation, Digital and other Strategic programs for Claims Operations:
  • Ultimate business accountability for the Intelligent Automation program including leading the business ownership of the portfolio of projects.
  • Effectively partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of automation and associated business outcomes.
  • Ensure that appropriate business resources are allocated to the Intelligent Automation program. Manages Claim Operations Intelligent Automation Product Owners and ensures business needs and programs deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Support and enable critical operational and technological initiatives in furtherance of Chubb’s Digital strategy. Support additional key strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Provide oversight and lead change management efforts with multiple levels of staff and departments.
Preferred Qualifications & Competencies:
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field - advanced degree a plus.
  • 10+ years of leadership and management experience including the ability to drive high performing teams and execution of complex strategic initiatives.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in claims, process re-engineering, or managing large complex operations teams; preferably in claims.
  • Strategic execution oriented transformation leader with proven track record of delivering tangible business outcomes.
  • Experience in managing Intelligent Automation projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with senior executives and articulate complex ideas in easy to understand business terms.
  • Proven ability to create and implement strategic plans and business results.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, proven ability to navigate, influence, and negotiate matrix reporting relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and problem resolution skills.
  • Interact effectively with stakeholders and executives across business and functional operations.
