Job Description

Title:  SVP, Global Head of Chubb Real Estate
This position is responsible for executing the Global Real Estate strategy and partnering with company executives to develop the strategy.  It reports to the Global Operations Officer and operates in a highly matrixed environment.  It is charged with all aspects of real estate in more than fifty countries including location and site strategy, leasing & purchase transactions, portfolio administration, design & construction and facility operations.  This position also oversees the Chubb Hotel & Conference Center. Extensive travel is required.  Work location can be Philadelphia or Whitehouse Station, NJ.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Specifically, this position will be responsible for the following:
  • Building and maintaining close working relationships with senior business unit leaders and executive management to ensure the Global Real Estate (GRE) plan is aligned with top-level business drivers and initiatives.
  • Collaborating with business executives to develop/maintain the global real estate strategy.
  • Partnering with the Business Units, Finance and Legal to negotiate and execute all contracts and leases.
  • Developing a location and site strategy that supports the long-term business objectives.
  • Developing and executing short- and long-range strategies for potential site consolidations.
  • Ensuring the GRE portfolio is managed in a cost-effective manner and monitored to maximize utilization.
  • Developing and administering best practice GRE processes that insure work product and strategies align with top-level business interests and objectives.
  • Building strategic partnerships with key service providers and vendors that affords viable GRE solutions and compliments the GRE organizational skill sets and resources.
  • Partnering with Global Finance to deliver lease vs. buy analysis.
  • Developing GRE policies that lead to more effective asset utilization, improving service performance and reducing total real estate costs.
  • Leading a team of professionals in the areas of real estate transactions, project management and field administration.
Qualifications:
  • Seasoned Global Real Estate executive with ten+ years of experience.
  • Skilled leader who commands respect and conducts straight-forward dealings with staff, vendors, landlords and the corporate real estate industry. Engaging and participative leadership style.
  • Real estate strategist with global reach.
  • Executive presence and able to communicate complex issues and solutions to executive level management.
  • Ability to develop and manage strong vendor relationships.
  • Able to ascertain and develop strategic resources and delegate effectively.
  • Effective listening skills able to translate needs into actionable requirements.
  • Confident, open-minded, assertive, articulate and well presented.
  • Expert in GRE financial modeling/comparative financial analysis.
  • Highly organized with ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Effective contract negotiator. Able to identify strengths, weaknesses and leverage to yield the lowest possible costs and the best possible terms.
  • Results oriented; driven to demonstrate value quickly.
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experienced change control manager able to avoid surprises.
