*Position to support New York region however, could be performed in other locations (subject to training availability).

Position Description:

The Underwriting Associate role is a professional support role that performs underwriting technical activities in support of the business unit. The UA works closely with the Underwriter to assist with gathering underwriting information, preparing instructions, performs quality assurance activities and files documentation in the electronic repository. The UA has direct engagement with internal team members and external Agency/Broker partners to manage service. This position is part of our Major/Commercial Accounts team located in Chicago.

The role is evolving to include more engagement in advanced activities related to risk analysis, pricing and referral. Over the course of the next year, the role will be expanded to include more activities related to pricing and risk analysis.

Key Activities:

- Pre Renewal Account Preparation (including Gathering/analyzing underwriting documents)

- Loss Run and Claim review/preparation

- Upload All documents in the electronic File Repository

- Follow up on subjectivities

- Coordinate Policy Issuance working closely with UW team to assure exclusions/forms attached to broker issued Contracts

- Quality check Draft Policies /Endorsements

- Address/resolve all Accounting inquiries

- Assist with Departmental supplies/offsite storage

- Assist with Account Audits

- Special Projects

Education and Experience:

- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent;

- 2 or more years of college and or Previous UA experience preferred.
