Job Summary:
Investigate, adjust, and settle property claims promptly and equitably in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract of insurance.  The Senior Claim Specialist will be responsible for “desk adjusting” losses that do not require an on-site inspection. The Senior Claim Specialist will also be responsible for setting up, assigning, and overseeing the adjustment of domestic and international property losses under major account property policies including fronting, quota-share and reinsurance contracts.  The Senior Claim Specialist must have the ability to analyze coverage, review and critique both property damage and time element losses, properly apply deductibles and verify reinsurance.  The Senior Claim Specialist will also prepare reports and communicate with underwriters in accordance with Chubb standards and best practices.  Strong writing and verbal communication skills are essential. 
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3-5 years of Property claims experience including 2+ years handling commercial property losses
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and appropriately address and resolve issues of coverage, adjustment, contracts and special programs
  • Knowledge of an experience in applying policy conditions in the adjustment process
  • Ability to recognize and respond to recovery issues (i.e. salvage and subrogation)
  • Ability to recognize and refer fraudulent claims for investigation
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate a wide variety of activities on a daily basis
  • Effective oral and written communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to be capable of dealing with a diverse internal and external customer base
  • Demonstrated proficiency in automated systems and technology including mainframe, MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficient typing skills
  • Home State Adjusters License and/or other state licensing helpful
  • Successful achievement of industry designations such as CPCU, AIC, or the completion of course work towards designations preferred
