This position, which reports to the Claim Operations Supervisor, provides critical support within the New Jersey Claim Operations Department.  The responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Assisting Line of Business Claims Examiners, providing administrative and technical support
  • Electronically attaching claim documents to corresponding claim files
  • Open and Close of electronic and hard copy claim files
  • Processing financial transactions: loss and expense payments, stop payments and voids at the direction of the Claims staff
  • Assigning Line of Business claims to the appropriate claim handler
  • Creating and mailing correspondence
  • Enter and validate information into various Claims systems
  • Submitting EDI, Paper State Forms
  • WCB Electronic Filing
  • Incoming/Outgoing Medical Provider Calls
  • Processing Line of Business Monthly Purge Reports
  • Maintain Claim Operations Service Level Agreements (e.g. timelines)
  • Provide support as a Subject Matter Expert, assist with projects as needed
  • Provide needed support throughout the Claim Operations Department

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Demonstrated computer and workstation skills; proficiency in Word and Excel; general knowledge of electronic claims systems a plus.

    Proficiency in Access and Excel a plus.

    Strong telephone and interpersonal skills required for both internal and external customer contact.

    Demonstrate a willingness to undertake new functions and adapt to changes in work flows as dictated by business needs.

    Ability to contribute to a collaborative environment by consistently demonstrating teamwork, high motivation, positive behavior and effort to achieve goals and objectives.
    Demonstrated track record of success in current and prior positions; producing accurate and timely results.


    College Degree Preferred
    Minimum of 2 Years of work experience in a customer service environment
    Experience in similar type role preferred
