Claims Optimization – Actuarial Insights group is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join the team. This position offers great opportunities to participate in various projects that impact Claim Department operational efficiency and superior claim outcome, both domestic and overseas.  It is also a unique opportunity for someone who would like to develop strategic thinking, business acumen, and communication skills as our team is responsible to review existing processes, and closely interacts with claim senior management to make recommendations on improving and optimizing them.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Develop insightful performance metrics to help manage claim operations: e.g. inventory management, reserve adequacy, recovery, litigation management, expense budget, etc.
  2. Develop and produce performance metrics for property, bodily injury predictive models and workflow enhancement
  3. Forecast and track integration savings of strategic initiatives
  4. Act as subject matter expert to provide business support to Claim IT in defining requirements for data extraction, report automation
  5. Support ad hoc quantitative analysis that facilitates effective decision making
  6. Assist catastrophe projection model development, reporting, analysis, and operational management tool enhancement
  7. Coordinate/cooperate with North America and Oversea General financial reporting/business intelligence teams to ensure overall consistency and efficiency across global
  8. Participate in  North America and Oversea General projects that have global impact
  9. Capable of working with offshore resource at different experience level.
  1. Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related
  2. 4-7 years of experience in actuarial disciplines, minimum of 4 exams passed, and actively pursuing professional designation
  3. Strong analytical skills
  4. Proficiency in Excel, and working knowledge of VBA is desired. Access, Cognos, QlikSense are plus.
  5. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex ideas to different audience
  6. Strong project and time management skills, willing to take ownership of projects, work comfortably in team environment
  7. Some programming experience, e.g. SQL or SAS, is desired, but not required
