Job Description

Senior Marine Risk Management Specialist  
This Senior Risk Management Specialist position will operate remotely but ideally positioned near a major airport and a Chubb branch office.
The Senior Marine Risk Management Specialist will have responsibility for performing field surveys, telephone surveys and consultations to include loss analyses in support of Chubb Marine Lines of Business. The successful candidate will be required to complete reports to include opinions and risk improvement recommendations in a technically appropriate fashion and in a timely manner. The above requires a high degree of marine technical competence.
The position advises Underwriting and Claims staff on technical issues based on review and observations from large loss reports, marine industry intelligence, conferences, participation in industry committees and other sources.
Another aspect of the position is the support of Underwriting in marketing efforts through agency/broker and account/prospect meetings.
Also, the position is responsible for conducting technical presentations to both internal and external audiences advancing marine risk management state-of-the-art and the Chubb brand.
The position is also required to deliver service strategies, alone or in concert with Marine Risk Management colleagues, on selected accounts or classes of business focused on identifying loss prevention/mitigation opportunities.
This position reports to the senior Marine Risk Manager.
Qualifications
Skills Required:
.  Candidate will have 10+ years marine surveying experience involving transportation of cargo in all modes as well as involvement with static (storage) risks, marinas/boatyards and other related fields.
.  Must be able to effectively negotiate on all levels with both internal and external partners and nurture relationships with underwriters, claimspeople, producers and assureds. 
.  The ideal candidate for the role will possess a high degree of proficiency with risk assessment and analysis.
.  Effective work/assignment management is a critical part of this role. 
.  Must have an ability to effectively interact with all levels of customers and colleagues both verbally and in writing. 
.  Knowledge and proficiency of marine and transportation technical terminology.
.  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business related software required. 
.  We are looking for a candidate who is a self-starter as this position will be remote.
. Salary grade for this position will be 24/25 depending on experience and skill level.
Education and Experience:
 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Graduates from maritime academies are preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of field experience conducting marine surveys; preferably cargo-related involving all modes of transportation along with some familiarity with warehouse operations/storage risks and marina and boatyard activities.
