SVP, Global IT Division Finance Officer

Reports to EVP Global Operations Administration and Global CIO

Participates actively as part of the Global Corporate Finance Function

Role Summary

Incumbent will be a key leader and partner with the Global CIO and her leadership team in driving major change in IT including:

§  Restructuring and renegotiating Application Development and Maintenance, Infrastructure and major change programs to drive cost savings and enable modern IT support for agile, cloud, and digital

§  Driving global synergies across five global development centers - key driver of location and contract synergies

§  Moving from a fixed to a variable cost base and partnering with business financial leaders to drive efficiencies.

Leads global enterprise IT financial planning, reporting and analysis for annual technology budget of ~$1B.

Major Responsibilities:

§  Drive annual planning process and forecasting for Global IT. 

§  Provide timely financial information and business analytics to executive leadership to ensure the organization is effectively meeting the strategic operating plan and adherence to the long-term roadmap.

§  On an ongoing basis, monitor IT financial performance while working closely with senior business and IT leaders to analyze the appropriate financial and operational metrics.

§  Accountable for driving reengineering processes in IT Finance, to optimize efficiencies, resources and organizational performance.

§  Ensure alignment of FP&A activities to support Digital growth and long-term strategy. 

§  Interface with and influence Chubb’s highest levels of executive leadership (CEO, Corporate Finance, Operations) managing relationships, exercising influence and building trust in the accuracy and efficiency of financial planning and reporting.

§  Maintain and implement financial policies and procedures that relate to the forecast, budget, and divisional profitability processes.

§  Synthesize, summarize and provide critical thinking for senior executives on financial matters.

§  Identify and seek opportunities to drive integration, efficiency, and optimization of existing financial processes to improve FP&A related functions.

§  Perform financial analysis / modeling on major IT initiatives and active engagement in IT Governance review.

§  Lead annual budgeting process with emphasis on expense management, management dashboards, financial modeling, reengineering and organizational transformations. 

§  Oversee internal audit reviews in areas supported. 

§  Identify expense efficiency opportunities and exercise control efforts. 

§  On-going leadership to support integration initiatives and identification of opportunities to optimize work streams.

§  Participate in M&A initiatives, including assisting with transaction planning, due diligence support, and integration.

§  Direct leadership of 26 Global Systems finance team members (employees & outsourced) and matrix leadership of international IT Finance teams.


§  15+ years of proven executive leadership experience in FP&A.

§  5+ years of experience in supporting an IT organization with a Digital focus. 

§  Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with evolving priorities.

§  Ability to drive business results, while evaluating changing needs and realigning resources appropriately.

§  Demonstrated executive presence. 

§  Works well in matrixed environment with experience managing multiple stakeholders.

§  Exceptional communication skills and executive presentation experience.

§  Strong business acumen, results-orientation, influencing and change management skills required.

§  Proven experience in process reengineering.

§  Must possess exceptional understanding of finance and accounting principles.

§  Expert in data mining.

§  Experience developing and managing financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and divisional profitability.

§  Expert in MS Office Suite.

§  MBA or CPA a plus.
