Scope & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Chubb Expense Management accounting function:
  • Ensure the integrity of accounting for expense transactions and static data in the PeopleSoft Accounts Payable (AP) sub-ledger and the PeopleSoft General Ledger.
  • Perform the monthly G&A expense close process including:
  • Interface of system feeds into the General Ledger and AP sub-ledger (vendor files, payroll)
  • Processing of all required recurring expense transactions (IT spending, accruals, etc.)
  • Maintain allocation process static data and complete expense allocation process
  • Interface AP and T&E sub-ledger data to general ledger, ensuring prescribed deadlines are met
  • Prepare monthly intercompany invoices for amounts due to/from ACE American
  • Assist in administering static data relative to allocation and expense management process (departments, allocation formulas, etc.)
  • Ensure the timely completion of G/L ledger account reconciliations.
  • Complete legal entity and management reporting month-end balancing validations.
  • Quarterly review, analysis, and reconciliation of intercompany due to/from balances for US operations.
  • Prepare reconciliations and research out-of-balances by running queries, analyzing PeopleSoft accounts, and communicating with business contacts.
  • Participate in various Chubb Finance-wide projects including Global Finance Shared Service initiatives.
  • Enhance the effectiveness of the Finance/Expense Management operation by identifying and implementing process improvements relative to existing responsibilities.
  • Help provide customers and auditors with quality and timely information that meet their requirements.
  • Support various other Expense Management functions as necessary.

Qualifications

Required:

  • B.S. Business Administration/accounting, finance or equivalent
  • One to Three years relevant work experience
  • Functional understanding of internal control processes
  • Experience with relational databases including development, management, query and reporting (e.g. ESSBASE, Citrix, Access) technologies
  • Expert knowledge of Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Verbal and written communications skills
  • Team player that can build collaborative working relationships across various operational / functional areas
  • Enthusiastic self-starter
  • Demonstrated integrity and dedication

Desired:

  • Hands on experience with PeopleSoft or other general ledger applications
  • Experience with financial expense analysis
  • Exposure to financial system processes
  • Insurance industry experience
