Scope:

Focus of position is to successfully perform administrative functions as well as clerical accounting duties for the SIU department. Individual must possess the desire to thrive in a fast-paced environment and be an independent thinker. This position interfaces with internal contacts at all levels of the organization as well as a diverse group of important external callers and vendors. The ideal location for position is in our Wilmington, DE office.

Responsibilities:

- Under minimal supervision, performs administrative duties of a highly confidential nature. 
- Perform administrative analyses delegated by the AVP SIU which require a considerable degree of independent decision making. 
- Perform routine operational and basic accounting functions as directed by the AVP SIU, requiring attention to detail and adherence to rigid deadlines. 
- Collect/consolidate Excel reports, i.e., invoicing updates 
- Compile and edit monthly status reports (Excel). 
- Establishes, maintains and updates digital files for the department. 
- Administer programs, projects, and/or processes specific to the operating unit served. 
- May serve as administrative liaison with others within and outside the company regarding administrative issues related to vendor invoicing, reports, and other SIU duties as assigned.
- Must be able to coordinate administrative work to other clerical staff within the organization. Job-sharing is a core expectation of this position. 
- Other special projects, as assigned.

- Communication will include internal and external customers.


Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in related field or proven insurance related experience.

- Ideal candidate will be a creative and energetic professional with a blend of related clerical accounting experience or relevant operational capabilities within a professional environment.

- 4 to 8 years of demonstrated competence in administrative and clerical accounting functions or related experience.

- Excellent time management and organizational skills.

- Excellent working knowledge of PC and various Microsoft software programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Excellent customer service skills.

- Effective communications and attention to detail.

- Self-starter with willingness to take initiative. 
- Demonstrated ability to think and work independently with limited supervision. 
- Proven ability in planning, prioritizing, and organizing diverse workload. 
- Effective interpersonal skills to be capable of working with all levels of office personnel.
