Data Solutions Specialist will support data collection, processing and transformation needs of Chubb Claims Department.  He/She will also support initiatives to enhance and expand existing data infrastructure to support more robust claim analytical capabilities.  This position will report to Data Solutions Manager, AVP.

Responsibilities - Medium to Long Term Initiatives:

•      Contribute to architect solutions to combine large, complex data sets into pragmatic, actionable tables

•      Assist in improving and streamlining processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve data accuracy, viability and value

•      Participate in automation of transformation and aggregation tasks for datasets from multiple sources (include automation of short term and ad-hoc reporting deliverables)

•      Collaborate with both internal (Business Intelligence/Actuarial Insights/Information Technology) and external (Vendor) resources, in performing the necessary activities to support Claims Business Intelligence/Actuarial Insights initiatives

•      Program (SQL, SAS, Informatica, etc. ) and test logic to ensure accuracy and completeness of business scenarios

•      Establish audit, balance, control routines to ensure data quality

•      Support transition of short-term/tactical solutions to long-term/strategic solutions

•      Develop and maintain clear and succinct documentation

Responsibilities - Short Term and Ad-hoc initiatives:

•      Executive high performance data extractions and transformations to support short-term/tactical solutions or ad-hoc requests

•      Establish audit, balance, control routines to ensure data quality

•      Work closely with Claim Business Intelligence and Actuarial Insights teams on special projects and ad-hoc requests from senior management and other business partners

•      Modify and test existing reports, processes, and  applications related to corporate wise system/process/data flow changes

•      Support issue log resolution on data related research, and implement fixes

•      Develop and maintain clear and succinct documentation

•      Bachelor’s in an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.

•      Knowledge of P&C insurance business and claim practice, a plus

•      3+ years of experience in large complex relational database, data collection, processing and transformation

•      2+ years of hands-on programming experience in two or more of the following: SQL, SSIS, SAS, Informatica

•      Ability to conduct high level reasonability check and detail check

•      Experience in working in Agile Development environment, a plus

•      Demonstrate effective interpersonal, verbal, written communication skills

•      Self-motivated and well-organized

•      Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office
