Position Summary
This is an entry level developer position that will assist in developing, configuring Duck Creek Insurance Platform for CHUBB Small Commercial Division.  Duck Creek is a market leading insurance platform built on modern technology stack.  The intent is to develop a competency on core Duck Creek platform to drive some of our strategic initiatives.  It is a challenging opportunity with great potential to build your career as a strong insurance technologist while driving the insurance industry in general into the digital world.
The essential job functions include the following;
  • Program, test and implement changes to the configuration of insurance products via Duck Creek manuscripts, business rules and systems interfaces to meet specification & standards.
  • Convey problems, solutions, updates and project status to peers.
  • Develop and maintain clear and succinct documentation.
  • Perform various QA/Testing functions within the team.
  • Provide strong support in cultivating an environment that encourages the use of data to support problem solving, critical thinking, and innovation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Responsibilities
  • 0 - 2 years of .NET programming experience. 
  • 0 - 2 years of experience and deep level of understanding of XML, XSL, XSLT and XPath etc. is required.
  • 0-2+ years of in HTML/CSS/JavaScript; knowledge of Angular or similar frameworks is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems with additional concentration in Finance, Business, Communication or Insurance.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word is required. 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with orientation toward details.
  • Web/WCF Service design and development experience. Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server (TFS). Knowledge of other technologies from the Microsoft technology stack is a plus.
  • Works successfully in a team environment and independently with the ability to quickly adapt to change.
  • Ability to develop technical documentation from business requirements and conceptual architecture artifacts.
  • An excellent understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with familiarity of various development methodologies i.e. SCRUM, Agile, waterfall, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.  Also must have the ability to articulate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
