Position Summary

This is an entry level Junior Developer position that will part of a development team and working on enterprise grade software systems.  The intent is to develop a junior developer to become a well-rounded software developer by learning and implementing coding standards and frameworks, troubleshooting existing code or writing code in support of developing insurance products, creating digital product distribution capabilities or innovating with new technologies. The individual will learn multiple facets of software development life-cycle, partnering with product owners, architects, developers, quality assurance, data analysts, etc.

Primary location: Malvern, PA

Secondary location: Whitehouse Station, NJ



The Westchester IT Junior Developer position requires a hard working person who has an ability to think analytically. 

Junior Developer Essential Job Functions

  • Support delivery of technology commitments by assisting in the design, coding, and testing of technical solutions.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader, Business Analyst and Product Owner for understanding the functional and system requirements.
  • Work closely with the Architecture Team to ensure architectural integrity and product quality.
  • Perform troubleshooting and code analysis.
  • Use coding frameworks and development tools to build and write quality code.
  • Create test scenarios and test cases to unit-test code and analyze results.
  • Convey problems, solutions, updates and project status to peers and management.
  • Develop and maintain clear and succinct documentation.
  • Participate in code reviews and resolve issues.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Potential Technical Skills:  XML, .NET, SQL, Web Services, C#, JavaScript


  • 0-2 years relevant work experience
  • Bachelor Degree Information Systems
  • Highly organized, possessing strong analytical abilities
