Position Description
The purpose of the Business Architecture role is to drive alignment between business capabilities and technology implementations in support of the products, services and underlying customer experience vision of Chubb’s various business units.  The Billing and Payment Systems Business Architect works across Chubb’s business units to develop an enterprise roadmap and integrated, reusable set of solutions for flexible billing and payment capabilities (including web and mobile).  In this role, you will engage and partner with stakeholders to define required business capabilities, create a program governance structure, develop business processes, assess capability maturity and outline the flow of data and information required to support proposed solutions. The role also works in collaboration with IT to determine feasibility of conceptual implementations through to the execution of platform development and deployment of capability into the business.
  • Draft a set of guiding principles for an enterprise billing and payment platform that compliments the customer experience vision of Chubb’s business units.
  • Perform analysis on the current billing and payment implementations, strategies and inflight projects to identify reusable components and leverage-able assets as well as platform limitations and vulnerabilities.
  • Define the foundational capabilities that are core to the business and allows for flexible payment methods, billing frequency and account consolidation.
  • Partner with business units on strategy and execution for mobile billing capabilities where applicable
  • Conduct gap analysis between the current state and the desired future-state to inform prioritization of components within the program implementation.
  • Maintain a 2 year roadmap and view of all billing and payment projects.
  • Develop an enterprise billing and payment maturity matrix and chart the progress of each business unit based on evolving capabilities.
  • Identify and track KPIs of the program to measure value, track results and inform strategic direction of the platform.
  • Regularly conduct research on bill and payment capabilities of competitors within the insurance space as well as comparable industries and best in-class experiences for consumers.
  • Where relevant, engage in the implementation of related customer experience projects that may present subject matter or implementation synergies (i.e. Claims payment EFT)

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree
  • A minimum of 7 years professional experience in an architecture/design role (business analyst, architect or developer of enterprise billing capability) in a relevant technology or business discipline or management consulting capacity
  • Prior experience managing a billing and payment system or implementation at a financial institution/insurance company, at a consumer product company, or other industry providing a comparable customer experience
  • Knowledge of insurance processes (policy administration) and billing lifecycle preferred
  • Successful track record implementing mobile billing capability as extension to customer portals and legacy billing applications
  • Experience with advanced billing technologies, digital payment platforms and mobile billing solutions preferred
  • Exceptional Communication skills and comfortable in leading meetings and discussions.

  • Ability to clearly define, articulate and document complex system issues and collaborate with multiple teams to define solutions
  • Project management experience is preferred
  • A proven track-record of developing creative solutions to traditional business problems.
  • Must be self -motivated to learn and dive into new technologies

  • This role will also require strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to develop enterprise roadmap and capability models, along with the capability to engineer and run a proof of concept for new technology solutions
