Small Commercial - AVP, Auto Product Management


Job Summary


Reporting to the Vice President, Small Commercial Product WC & Auto Lead, the Assistant Vice President will be accountable for driving top- and bottom- line results for the Small Commercial Auto line of business. This individual will be responsible for leading on-going product management and product development efforts while coordinating with Underwriting, Actuarial, IT, Government Affairs, and Legal on various product initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for assisting with P&L management of the Auto line
  • Prepares analysis and business recommendations based on in-depth reviews of new and renewal production, loss performance, and rate trends
  • Monitors product’s price competitiveness in the market, making analytical justifications for pricing and/or predictive model adjustments
  • Identifies product growth opportunities and creates strong business cases for product and pricing changes
  • Drives product development efforts including segment expansions, coverage enhancements, underwriting strategies, and improvements to the online Auto strategic quoting platform
  • Builds detailed IT business specifications and manages line of business IT development efforts
  • Monitors, analyzes, and evaluates state regulatory and legislative changes that may impact product performance; ensures product rates, rules, forms, underwriting, and business practices are in compliance with state laws
  • Provides consultative and/or technical support regarding significant product issues affecting the Auto line of business
  • Acts as home office underwriting authority for the Auto line of business
  • Assist in the development of marketing and training material


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, or other analytical related fields
  • Ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in product management, underwriting, pricing, and/or actuarial science
  • Results driven leader with exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, maintains thorough attention to detail
  • Previous Auto Product Management experience preferred
  • Previous predictive analytics
