In collaboration with the SVP of the Central Claim Service center, this Operations AVP will provide dynamic leadership and management related to claims operations, assignment and other claims operational support services.  An environment of continuous improvement including process re-engineering, intelligent automation, and aligning system support functions.  This includes identifying and delegating operational needs across various lines of business and associated onsite and remote staff.  

•           Proactively review operational and business flows that support the development of solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness

•           Establish operational goals, leadership credibility and convey a strong vision
•           Develop a good, honest, and open working relationship with the staff, supported business unit management,  claim representatives and vendors
•           Establish and sustain the development, documentation, and implementation of operational procedures and business flows for all lines of business
•           Leverage internal business partner relationships to facilitate additional work opportunities for the operation 
•           Establish a consistent process for evaluating, scoping, and defining business processes
•           Demonstrate decisive leadership ability
•           Effective problem solving and influencing skills and provide innovative solutions to improve competitive advantage (including process re-engineering, intelligent automation, and service excellence)
•           Proactively support the development and monitoring of service standards 
•           Establish and provide operational processes and support that strengthens our customer experience 
•           Development of staff leading towards Center of Excellence & continuous improvement
•           Establish a formalized performance management plan for all direct reports.  Foster and facilitate staff development including succession planning
•           Build a talent pool
•           Monitor and Control Expenses

•           Bachelor’s degree
•           Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in the insurance industry and/or operations
•           Ability to effectively communicate the attainment of business/operational goals and objectives through teamwork in an open, entrepreneurial environment
•           Ability to lead through influence and example
•           Effective problem solving and influencing skills
•           Strong analytical, presentation, and communication (oral and written) skills
•           Strong end-user computer skills, e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
•           Strong project management skills
•           Proven ability to provide direction and technical guidance to promote team excellence and development of staff
•           Projects self-confidence, authority and enthusiasm
•           Ability to travel 
•           Excellent customer orientation
•           Background in insurance operations, and/or claims preferred
