About Chubb’s Information Technology Group
Chubb's Information Technology group manages all of our critical business systems and data including, for example, information about customers, rates, premium and expenses. Our Information Technology team is dedicated to creating competitive advantages in products, customer services and business costs by driving digital transformation in our business with a modernized focus on agile methodology and data analytics.
The IT department consists of a number of disciplines where we will have internship opportunities including Information Management, Project Management, Business Analysis, Infrastructure, Architecture, Development, Risk Management and Security and Compliance. The IT summer internship will run from June through August and is offered in several locations. It will provide the opportunity to participate in one of the disciplines and gain an awareness of the systems, projects and interactions in a corporate IT organization.
Position Summary:
Chubb’s Intranet team is seeking a summer intern to assist with the migration and upgrade of our current Intranet, The Village.  This opportunity will be supporting the migration of Chubb’s Global Intranet from its current Jive platform to Unily integrated with SharePoint Online, Yammer, and Office 365.  It’s an exciting project that will enhance Chubb’s primary collaborative communications platform.   You will work with Chubb’s Intranet team, IT infrastructure, Corporate Communications, and regional communication representatives from around the globe.  This is a multi-faceted project that will include: web development knowledge, content management, data auditing, testing, analytics, site design, site governance, metrics, and reporting. Working with various stakeholders, business leaders, and end user throughout the organization will be a key component of the responsibilities.  Job responsibilities include: 
  • Assist in Implementation the Intranet migration plan.
  • Analyze, audit, and work with Intranet migration data.
  • Assist business users/site owners with design and use of Intranet templates, sites, blogs/news, videos, media and configuration of page widgets.
  • Communicate best practices with site owners and end users.
  • Test site functionality and Office 365 integration.
  • Assist and train users to learn new Intranet.
  • Assist with creation of migration and training materials.
  • Evaluate metrics and create reports.  
  • Pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related major with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to learn and add value in the assigned discipline and department
  • Knowledge of websites, website structure, design, user experience, and social media.
  • Experience and/or strong desire to learn and train users in use of website content management. 
  • Ability to analyze, audit, and work with data in spreadsheets and other file formats. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Microsoft O365 SharePoint experience is a plus.
